Who We Are
Hope Connections believes in celebrating what’s strong about Englewood, not just what’s missing. For decades, this proud Toledo neighborhood—bounded by Monroe Street to the north, I 75 to the east, Dorr Street to the South, and the railroad tracks near Smead Avenue to the west—has been home to generations of resilient families, dedicated homeowners, and community leaders who care deeply about their neighbors.
While data from census tracts 25 and 26 tell part of Englewood’s story through numbers, the real story is one of endurance, pride, and possibility. We see a community rich in history, culture, and connection—one that deserves the same access to quality services, investment, and opportunity as any other.
At Hope Connections, we work hand-in-hand with Englewood residents to build on the strengths already here, nurturing hope that’s been rooted in this community all along.

Hope Connections exists to empower individuals and families by engaging with and connecting them to transformative resources that foster hope, resilience, and lasting change. We are committed to building stronger communities by providing access to opportunities that inspire growth, self-sufficiency, and a brighter future for all.

We will use the following methods to transform Englewood
Resource Navigation
Providing opportunities for families to be connected to best fit resources in a way that removes the barriers of access.
Education & Training
Through a detailed community survey we found that many residents are interested in a wide variety of life skills training. In January we will launch our first programs, tailored to help men, women, and children in the community to achieve their goals and dreams for the future.
Family Engagement
In partnership with our fellow Englewood organizations, we will host family engagement activities designed to rebuild the sense of community within Englewood, where neighbors show care and concern for one another through bonding, problem solving, and community advocacy.
Something Brilliant is Coming! Brilliant Toledo launches in 2026.
Through an affiliate partnership with Brilliant Cities, Hope Connections aspires to launch the first Brilliant Toledo home in the Englewood Community in Q3 2026. Brilliant Cities builds child success neighborhoods where programming focuses on improving the reading literacy for children 0 – 8. Additionally, most homes include programming for family supports such as Financial Literacy, Maternal Mortality, Libraries, Community Gardens, Male Bonding programs and more!
